I'm looking to buy 2 x chest of drawers that measure 100-120cm wide and 80cm high, or higher for a project I'm working on. They need to be well made but not necessarily in tip-top condition. If they need some TLC that's fine - that's my job after all.

My client would prefer a French style, or something a little different.

I love orange pine – well, working on it, anyway! 😄 Much of it is high-quality, just like this piece. What was once a dressing table has now been transformed into a stylish, much-loved desk.

I sanded the top right back and gave it a beautiful wax finish, while the base was painted in an old favourite of mine, Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black. To finish off, I added modern brass t-knobs, chosen from my selection of quality hardware in the workshop, giving it the perfect touch of style.

Black was my customer’s choice and I can see why, it works so well with the aubergine wall behind.

This beautiful monks bench was truly a much-loved piece! It took 10 sheets of sanding paper to remove the wax, but the effort was well worth it. Now painted in Fusion’s ever-popular Homestead Blue, it has a fresh new look that the owners absolutely love. 💙✨

Positioned right at the entrance, it’s the first thing you see when you walk through the door— and with its new finish, the stunning herringbone flooring stands out even more in contrast!

Restyling furniture is such a rewarding job in many ways. Not just because I take old and tired pieces of furniture and bring them back to life, transforming them, but because the responses I receive are so heartfelt that it makes all the hard work worthwhile.

I restyled and painted this corner cabinet for a friend, which had belonged to his mother who passed away just over a year ago. He wanted me to give the cabinet my magic touch. Which I did with the addition of remote controlled, dimming, flashing lights to boot! He was overwhelmed when I delivered it back. Job done!

Looking for a fun, creative way to spend some time and connect with like-minded people? My next upcycling workshop is happening on March 11th. They run from 10:30 am to 1 pm, and I’d love for you to join us!

You'll work on a small project, supplied by me, while learning proper upcycling techniques. These skills will give you the confidence and inspiration to tackle projects at home on your own. All materials are provided—just bring your enthusiasm! As a thank-you, you'll also receive 10% off any Fusion paint and products purchased on the day.

Makeover of the Month... or maybe year!

This was a fun project. A new customer recently came in with a rather unusual request—could I work my magic on a boat? A model boat that meant a lot to the family but had sadly been neglected over the years. Of course, I couldn’t resist the challenge, so I said yes.

I’ll admit that it turned out to be a much bigger project than I initially anticipated. Every detail required careful attention, but after plenty of time, effort, and a bit of creative problem-solving, the boat was transformed and ready to sail (or at least sit proudly on display!

While I’m no match for the professionals of The Repair Shop, I was pretty chuffed with the final result—and so was the customer! It’s projects like these that keep things interesting and push me to expand my skills. Who knows what unique challenge will come through the door next? Having said that, I'm quite happy to get back to working on furniture for now!

Just finished building this rustic, industrial-style bench using a beautiful piece of solid wood, repurposed from an old, dated bench. The top has been treated with hemp oil, and new metal legs have been added to complete the look. It can also double up as a coffee table!

Exciting progress at Reloved by Jo in the Furniture Barn, Braydon, near Swindon and Cirencester.

I'm thrilled to share this recent commission I worked on in between moving workshops!

The drawers were in great shape but had aged into an orange hue. My customers opted for new hardware, and I think the added expense was well worth it—just look at the transformation.

They chose a neutral stone paint shade and left the tops up to me. For the large chest and bedside tables, I sanded them back and treated them for a natural finish, while the matching chests had a fresh coat of paint overall. The result is a harmonious blend that works beautifully.

I was over the moon to hear their feedback: “The standard of work on your website set high expectations, but seeing our furniture exceeded them all.” It’s moments like these that make everything worthwhile.

Now, my paint brushes are taking a break while I finish up the move. Can’t wait to get back to creating, after a rest!

Hi everyone! Just a quick update: this is my final week at the Somerset workshop before I head to the Cotswolds—lock, stock, and brushes!

I'll still be around for commission work and furniture painting, no worries, as I’ll be back in the area regularly.
